Session 28 (200 xp)

"The difference between heresy and treachery is ignorance"

Acolytes: Aenid, Meghera, Monroe, Lazerus, Serghar.

In the arena, Meghera faces a carnosaur, and is badly wounded, falling into a coma. The Acolytes secure here in their safe-house, and investigate the underbelly of Xicarph, ending up at the Fate's Wheel, a gambling house.

There, they meet Lady Melua, a malfian noblewoman looking for her lost brother. Her investigations have brought her to Xicarph, on the hunt for the Pilgrims of Hayte, a chaos cult she believed has abducted her brother.

Monroe joins a few pit fights, and gets the attention of Papa Grist, the owner of Fate's Wheel, and a crime lord. He makes a deal with the Acolytes: if they will kill a former associate of him, the Spider Bride, he will pay them richly, and provide information on the Heron Masked man.

The Acolytes retire to their safehouse, where Serghar provides medical help to Meghera, noticing the Halo Device at her arm. Fearing corruption, he amputates her arm, and Lazerus secures the Device.

The day after, Meghera, Aenid and Monroe rest to recover from their wounds, while Serghar and Lazerus continue their investigations. They have a chance encounter with a street preacher, Obdahia Psalter, who seems to know more about the Heron Mask. Unfortunately, the crazy old preacher incites the crowds to riot, and soon the Acolytes find themselves in the middle of an angry mob.
