Session 10 (200 xp)

"It is better to die for the Emperor than to live for yourself."

Acolytes: Mongrel, Magnus, Metalus, Dar, Meghera.

The Acolytes investigate the Middle-hive of Sibellus, and come into contact with Vorlin Orday. This bounty hunter has been working for Laurent Strophes, and has delivered to him one of the harmony meters used by the Joyous Choir to test their subjects. He offers to sell the Acolytes a data-slate he "obtained" from a high-placed Choir member. The Acolytes meet his price, and he informs them the exchange will happen in the next few days.

The Acolytes also follow a ceremony at a local chapel of the Joyous Choir, but do not notice anything amiss.

A day after, the Acolytes accompany Julia Strophes to the party of Lady Tanae Borella: she's a member of the Joyous Choir, and by making a good impresson on her, the Acolytes can improved their chances to be invited to the Alabaster Court, the inner circle of the Choir.

During the party, the Acolytes manage to attract the attention of a few Nobles, and are offered a dose of farcosia, a liquid drug only available to members of the Choir. Mongrel senses a warp signature in the drug, similar to that found in creatures of the Warp. The Acolytes manage to pilfer a few doses for later analysis.

The following day, Vorlin Orday set the place of the meeting, inthe Hustle, a busy market of Middle-hive. The Acolytes go to the meeting, but before they can obtain the data-slate, Orday is killed by a Robed Figure, who takes the data-slate. The Acolytes chase the assassin, and try stop him with their firearms. Dar even manages to get in a melee with the robed killer, but the creature seems to have very advanced bionic enhancements, and is a capable wielder of power swords!

After cutting off one of Dar's arms, the assassin manages to escape into the crowd. The Acolyte stabilize their dying fellow, and regroup.
