"Only the awkward question; only the foolish ask twice"
Acolytes: Mongrel, Aenid, Meghera, Dar, Metalus.
Proctor Rotlan briefs the Acolytes on what the Arbites have discovered so far. By analyzing the input received, the Acolytes find a pattern in the attacks of the Broken Chains, as the explosions seem to follow a spiralling shape. In this way, they have a vague idea of where the next attack could take place.
The Acolyte mingle with the serf population, and glean information about the existance of another group of mutants, the Hard Vaults, who can probably be of some help in the ongoing investigation.
They're also introduced to Captain Movern, the leader of the Royal Scourges stationed at the Harrow. The Captain is a rude and brutal man, whose only interest in the Acolytes is for them to find the mutants, so that he can slaughter them all.
Metalus brings the word of the Emperor to the serf population, but his sermons escalate in a riot, when the serfs assault the lodgings of the Acolytes. Once the matter is settled, Mongrel, as acting team-leader, feels compelled to execute Metalus for insubordination.
Baron Ulbrexis, always shadowed by Dar, gathers information among the serfs to plan a route in order to reach ancient service tunnels used by the Broken Chains in his past to travel around the Harrow. The Acolytes plan to investigate these tunnels the next day.
But in the morning, they're awoken by a vox-message from Proctor Noles: the Broken Chains have attacked once again!
